Berkshire Lieutenancy Interfaith Walk

The Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire hosted an interfaith walk in Windsor Great Park, bringing together approximately 70 representatives from different faiths and communities from across the county.

The walk was organised in support of His Majesty The King’s commitment to promoting tolerance, respect and greater understanding between people of different faiths and backgrounds. It provided an informal opportunity for conversation, reflection and friendship in the setting of Windsor Great Park.

Guests gathered at the York Club before setting out on a circular route through the Great Park, including the iconic Copper Horse. Those taking part were able to walk together, speak with one another and share something of their own experiences, traditions and communities.

The event was overseen by Vice Lord-Lieutenant Graham Barker DL, who leads the Berkshire Lieutenancy’s Interfaith Panel. The Lord-Lieutenant welcomed guests at the start of the evening, before the walk began.

The event reflected the importance of building relationships across communities, not only through formal occasions, but through simple opportunities to meet, walk and talk together.

The Lieutenancy is grateful to all those who attended, and to those involved in organising and supporting the event.
