The Lord-Lieutenant, Mr Andrew Try, was delighted to present the Royal County of Berkshire Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, in an evening celebrating outstanding service, commitment and achievement across Berkshire.
The annual ceremony, organised by the South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (SERFCA), brought together members of the Berkshire Lieutenancy, invited guests and representatives of the Armed Forces to recognise the contributions of Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and young people serving in the Cadet Forces.
During the evening, the Lord-Lieutenant presented four British Empire Medals (BEMs), eight Meritorious Service Certificates, two Ulysses Trust Outstanding Service Awards and the Best Reservist Award.
The Lord-Lieutenant also formally appointed his four Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2026–27, who will accompany and assist him at civic and ceremonial engagements throughout the coming year. One of the newly appointed Cadets was also recognised as Berkshire’s Best Tri-Service Cadet.
The evening was a fitting celebration of the dedication, leadership and voluntary service of those who contribute so much to the Armed Forces and wider community. The Lord-Lieutenant congratulated all the award recipients and thanked them for their exceptional commitment and service.
