The Berkshire Lieutenancy Interfaith Panel, chaired by Mr Graham Barker DL, held its inaugural Interfaith Walk in Windsor Great Park. The event brought together around 60 people from a wide range of faith communities across Berkshire, reflecting the county’s rich diversity.
Participants gathered at York Lodge, where they were welcomed by the Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire, Mr Andrew Try. In his remarks, the Lord-Lieutenant emphasised the importance of interfaith dialogue in fostering understanding and trust within society, noting His Majesty The King’s personal commitment to supporting initiatives of this kind.
The group – which included the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Councillor Mandy Brar – was then led on a walk through the Great Park by Nicholas Day, Head of Engagement and Events. The route included a visit to the Copper Horse, offering a spectacular view of Windsor Castle on a warm and clear summer evening.
After the walk, guests returned to York Lodge to continue their conversations over sandwiches and light refreshments, enjoying a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
