The Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants attended events across the county in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
Andrew Try, Lord-Lieutenant, attended an event in the morning on Thursday 6 June, when a flag was raised in a ceremony outside Maidenhead Town Hall. That evening, Sean Taylor DL attended Bracknell’s Commemoration event which concluded with the lighting of a beacon to mark the Anniversary and Richard Anderson DL joined the local community in Woodley as they celebrated at a Picnic in the Park which also included the lighting of a beacon.
On Sunday 9 June, Stefan Fafinski DL attended an Anniversary Remembrance Service for D-Day, Kohima and Monte Cassino organised by the Maidenhead Royal British Legion at All Saints Boyne Hill, Maidenhead.
