Their Majesties The King and Queen welcomed President Emmanuel Macron of France and Madame Brigitte Macron to the United Kingdom in Windsor at the start of their official State Visit.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire, Mr Andrew Try, was in Windsor to receive Their Majesties, as Windsor Castle played host to key elements of the visit. The day concluded with a State Banquet at the Castle, attended by members of the Royal Family.
The three-day visit included ceremonial and diplomatic engagements, among them a wreath-laying at the grave of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey, an address to Parliament, and high-level discussions between President Macron and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The State Visit continues until 10 July and reflects the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and France.
