Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron of Guide Dogs, visited the Guide Dogs Reading Centre, where she met families and children supported by the Buddy Dog service.
This programme provides companion dogs for children with vision impairments, enabling them to develop independent living skills, confidence, and autonomy through their relationship with their dogs.
During her visit, Her Royal Highness joined in making dog treats alongside the families and observed the children demonstrating teaching their dogs tricks, an activity that builds fine motor skills, timing, and concept learning.
Her Royal Highness was received and welcomed to the centre by Mr Mark Sanderson DL.
