The Berkshire Lieutenancy

Lord-Lieutenant visits the Berkshire Yeomanry

The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to visit 94 (Berkshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron in Windsor where he was received by Lt Col Sarah Trevelion, Commanding Officer of 39 Signal Regiment (The Skinners) and Brigadier Hugh Robertson VR, the Squadron’s Honorary Colonel.

The Lord-Lieutenant was given an overview of the Regiment and Squadron before taking a fascinating tour of the Museum charting the history of the Berkshire Yeomanry from its initial formation as a Cavalry unit in Hungerford in 1794 to the present day. He then had an opportunity to see an example of a current signalling setup before meeting many of the soldiers.

The Lord-Lieutenant gave a short address to the Squadron highlighting the importance of the Reserve Forces and the many historic connections between the Berkshire Yeomanry and the Berkshire Lieutenancy before presenting a number of HM The King’s Coronation Medals and a 1* Brigade Commander’s Commendation.
